After asking around folks here, it seems like RHEL 5.X is going to be around for a while, so I was thinking that if we should ever move versions, let's do it altogether to 3.X, if we have measurable benefits on doing so. Do you think it'd be significantly easier to develop if we move to 2.6? I know there are some things that are indeed better in 2.5+, try/except/finally blocks come to my mind. But maybe it's better to sacrifice some commodity over broader compatibility with stuff that's still fairly current?
