Well, I just realized what happened... Grant sent this in 2010, and
shiraz ressuscitated the thread since he was having trouble with a
similar use case... I'm not sure why I don't remember getting his
email at that time, though.

I assume Grant gave up on his initial plan since then. In any case,
cross compiling kernels is a use case that lots of people are
interested in, and I'd like to work on it. In any case some help would
be appreciated.
