>From the Gaim website: _________________________________________________________________ Rendezvous Plugin (Juanjo Molinero Horno) - Wrote a protocol plugin (PRPL) that communicates with Apple's iChat using the Bonjour protocol. The Bonjour protocol uses multicast DNS to automatically discover other Bonjour users on your local network. The PRPL currently uses the Howl library for multicast DNS, but we'd like to switch to using Avahi in the future. This in CVS HEAD and will be in the next release of Gaim. _________________________________________________________________
>From the NetBSD website: _________________________________________________________________ NetBSD needs a daemon that automatically assigns IPv4 link-level addresses. NetBSD also needs an Multicast DNS responder and a BSD-licensed Multicast DNS library would also be desirable. Work in progress: http://netbsd-soc.sourceforge.net/projects/zeroconf/ _________________________________________________________________ _________________________________________________________________ Add multicast DNS support to NetBSD. This would add another keyword to nsswitch.conf (mdns) and would only be valid for hosts. _________________________________________________________________ -- Mit freundlichen Gruessen / With kind regards DAn.I.El S.
