One thing I forgot to mention: Avahi also ignores search paths defined in /etc/resolv.conf. You may, however, use the "browse-domains" option in /etc/avahi/avahi-daemonc.onf. Maybe we should parse the domains from /etc/resolve.conf. Dunno. Would probably make some sense.
