I recently (last night) opened a project on SourceForge called ExFormula. It is in the very basic planning stages, and hope to elicit some support for it. It will be based on Apache Avalon server framework, and be designed for seamless integration into Apache Cocoon version 2. ExFormula will be an implementation of the W3C XForm specification. XForm is a very large specification that encompasses the Model/View/Controller design pattern. Our first focus will be on providing an implementation for the Model--this is Cocoon's missing piece, and hopefully ExFormula will fill this niche well. The next focus will be the implementation of the Controller portion so that the resulting model generated is correct.
