> 4.0 means a stable, final release 4.0.x means an update or bugfix of 4.0 4.1 means a beta that adds new features to 4.0, where the important interfaces (i.e. lifecycle) are not broken. 4.2 is the stable release of 4.1. It is usually a little better than 4.0.x. Good, and simple enough for me to follow. But then: > 3.8b means a beta version of 3.7. Why isn't a beta version of 3.7 called 3.7b (instead of 3.8b). So it would go 3.7.1 --> 3.7.2 --> ... --> 3.7.15 (till its feature complete) --> 3.7a (loose ends) --> 3.7b (critical bug fixes) --> 3.8rc1 (i think i can release it, but...oops) --> 3.8rc2 --> 3.8 (final==3.8rc2)? Of course i never did understand the solaris version numbers either... - huw --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
