All,

since I have been given the karma required to put stuff into CVS,
I'll follow the good example set by the other committers and give
a short presentation of myself. (Especially since my becoming a
committer has restored the physical constant "number-of-Leos-on-avalon-dev",
until L.Simmons gets back.)

Right then...

My name is Leo Sutic, and I am 23 years old. I work as a developer
at Inspire Infrastructure. When I started playing around with computers
the operating system of choice was TSO/CICS. Then the path went over
C64 to PC, and language-wise from Basic to Pascal to x86 Assembly to
C++ to Java. I have dabbled in COBOL, too, but that's strictly
between you and me.

I am working towards a civil engineering degree in computer science
(Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden), but that's been
put on the back burner while I work here.

I joined Avalon-dev since I needed to understand it in order to
understand Cocoon 2.0. While cocoon-dev is nice, avalon-dev
has a special place in my heart since it is here that I've learnt
the most about software architecture. If it is true what Gerhard says
that I have excellent knowledge of different design patterns, it is
because people like Berin, Peter, Paul, Giacomo, Donald, Gerhard, Carsten,
and many more have shared their knowledge on this list.

My current avalon-related project is to port Avalon to C++, as I firmly
believe that the patterns used in Avalon can be reapplied in C++ and in
other areas than server side programming. The attempt has stalled due to
workload, but I intend to push it forward as soon as possible.

And finally, I vote +1.

.

What do you mean, there's no vote called?

/LS
