I've actually applied this patch, but have still received this error.  I don't have a 
repeatable test case at the moment though...  

I've also added the loggers to the constructors; should I submit this patch?

Bug report http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=9177
contains both a patch and a test case. Should I start submitting them
to the mailing list instead? I was told otherwise in the past.
