progress. It may mean things take longer to get decided but usually the decisions are better for it.And thereby grant the right to a single individual to block
That takes away the ability of the PMC to function. If whenyou take
away it ability to function you have taken away its abilityto represent
I wonder if I'm the only one who feels that you two guys want to engineer the Avalon charter to route around one another.the comunity and its ability to meet its obligations to the board.
Are you referring to Stephen and I?
No, I'm referring to Mr. Peter Donald and Mr. Stephen McConnell
That is not the case.
I know, dude, I know, don't worry.
Yes. This is the case for you. But I don't perceive this being the case for the relationship between these two gentlemen. We both feel burned by events in the past, and neither of us wants the same mistake to repeat itself.
It seems (at least to me) that Peter likes the fact to be able to 'block' directions that he doesn't like. And Stephen hates the fact that he has the power to do that because he feels that he's going to do it.
I find *this* something so disruptive that no voting rule can possible heal it.
Reminds me of the Tomcat 3.x vs. 4.x mess where Costin and Craig hated each other. Now that both are gone, Tomcat is going to be finally unified.
Do we have to reach that point or you two are smart enough to understand the value of cooperation?
That's what I'm worried about, not some stupid voting rules.

Anyway, I find it funny that even if your name was not mentionned, you felt attacked :) We call that 'coda di paglia' in italian :-) [that would be translated as 'straw tail' in english, but I'm sure it doesn't make sense to you]valid points, and I proposed what I think is a valid compromise. Hopefully Stephen will agree to that middle ground.
