Yeah f**k you too Berin ;-) It has had commits. Is not dead just sleeping. It will not have more committers just because it arrives at Sourceforge. It may have a lower barrier to entry for prospective new committers, but that is easy to understand - no six month wait before addition. As it happens, there is a fellow who wants committer status.
SF is neutral on community. Incidentally, the FSF is too. I know I got in heaps of trouble proposing ApacheForge, but hey there is sometimes something to be said for "roll up, roll up, take a seat". My ideal place would be a Jav foundary, with a low barrier to entry, with some of the FSF's zeal, but not the viral copyleft of GPL (nowt wrong with LGPL for the record). BSD is best. <rant-off/> -ph --- Berin Loritsch <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > From: Robb Penoyer [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > > > > If a move can result in an apache class open source > > development effort, which is what any successful database > > implementation would require, then fantastic. > > > > If a move results in the death of the effort, then it is a > > sad day for us.
