I am concerned about the watering down of the individual within this
community. While I can see what you are trying to do WRT code ownership
problems, I fear that you are treading on dangerous ground.

I feel that pride of contribution is one of the pillars of opensource and
actually closedsource projects. A sense of ownership and responsibility for
a piece of code is beneficial to the overall project. Problems with code
ownership are typically problems between individuals within the community
and will continue wheather or not there are author tags in the source.
