When it comes to the real distribution, it is name-version jars. This provides a couple of advantages in that when someone gives a problem report, they can tell us the name of the released jar (hense the version). It also lets the users know at a glance when there is something new available. That being said, I have been against anything that programatically tries to discover the version of a jar by encoding it into the filename. This is because library versioning is something that needs to be addressed by a not easily modifiable (by the user) method or it is inherently broken. Until we enter Code Freeze, I propose that you use the unversioned jars. Once we release, then you need to transition to the used jars. If I have thoroughly confused you, here it is simply put: Until Beta 1 Release: avalon-framework.jar avalon-excalibur.jar After Beta 1 Release: avalon-framework-4.0b1.jar avalon-excalibur-4.0b1.jar --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
