Good idea, I looked at that JISP thing you mentioned a couple of weeks back. I've pointed out to the author that seperation of interface and impl would help a component framwork wrap the API (and plug the persistence and/or distribution) no reply as yet.
Not sure ... long term I would like to replace the repository with either a "database" (by which I don't necessarily mean a SQL database but could just be file chunks indexed via BTree or something). Short term I have no idea - I don't really use it anyways ..
