New Phoenix index xdoc page

I've committed the pictures I made the the other day and placed them as 
<figures> with text on Phoenix's index page.  The images are under 
avalon CVS, the text and Corel Draw8 images are under avalon-phoenix 
CVS.  Could someone take a look and make comments as to the correctness 
it all.  Lastly, I'm too chicken to replace the online web pages (I'm a 
Unix lightweight), so someone else will have to do that.
