I would to propose the set-up of a set of CORBA related blocks supporting
a basic ORB, a PSS service (Persistent State Service), and INS
(Interoperable Naming Service). At this time I have are already
implemented a set of wrappers around the existing OpenORB (SourceForge)
framework. I would to use facilitate a tighter integration with
Phoenix and in particular, internal support for logging, configuration,
and implicit component management.
Here is a more detailed summary:
ORB block
A basic CORBA 2.4 ORB enhanced to include
Avalon based support for logging, configuration and
the management of POAs (Portable Object Adapters )
and interceptors as components - i.e. the ORB becomes
a component manager.
PSS block
A persistent state service implemented as a ORB
managed component capable of handling file, relational,
and memory based persistence) based on the PSDL
(Persistent State Definition Language). A PSS block
would manage a specific persistence connectors.
INS block
A interoperable naming service implemented as a
component flavoured POA.
Also (part 2 of the proposal) is grant me committer status so that
I can get on with the job of setting this up!
Cheers, Steve.
