Hi! While I cannot be specific for strategic reasons (our company considers our in-depth avalon&phoenix knowledge and extensive usage a competitive advantage, furthermore, some of our clients also like to keep their outsourcing strategies unknown for the same reasons), our company runs mission-critical applications on top of phoenix for some of the biggest companies/organisations in the world, including a Fortune 500 (I believe that's how that silly list is called...?) company. I can also tell you that both avalon framework (on which phoenix depends) and phoenix itself have zero known issues (compared to at least dozens for most EJB or J2EE servers), and that phoenix runs for unattended for months without crashing. Furthermore, phoenix is nearing final release status. Regardless of all that, I think that it would be benificial to your company in general when a different set of standards is applied to software coming from the jakarta project (and I indeed suggest you do try and convince your boss of this ;). Not to sound arrogant, but some of the best java software does originate here. And no released jakarta software is as remotely crappy as, say, windoze. best regards, Leo Simons PS: you might also wish to consider searching the archives for phoenix-dev on this subject.
