I was wondering would it be useful if interface org.apache.excalibur.event.command.ThreadManager would have ROLE variable in itself, thus enabling usage of various implementations as proper avalon component. I dunno if other framework implementations require this variable, but Fortress definetly does, because ServiceManager.lookup() raises ClasscastException ...
