Hi there,

My issue is that avarice (version 2.9 or 2.12) does not open the necessary gdb server port. Can you give me a tip why? I'm out of options here. Otherwise, are there any alternative gdbservers for AVR?

My setup:
Windows 7, 64bit
Avarice 2.9 (from avr-toolchain-installer-3.4.2.1573-win32.win32.x86)
Avarice 2.12 (started from cygwin64)

Sample Output:
/C:\Tools\AVR\AVR Toolchain\bin>avarice -2 --jtag usb :4242//
//AVaRICE version 2.9, Jan  7 2010 22:42:57//
//
//Defaulting JTAG bitrate to 250 kHz.//
//
//JTAG config starting.//
//Found a device: JTAGICEmkII//
//Serial number:  00:a0:00:00:0d:3f//
//Reported JTAG device ID: 0x9702//
//Configured for device ID: 0x9702 atmega128//
//JTAG config complete.//
//Preparing the target device for On Chip Debugging.//
//
//Disabling lock bits://
//  LockBits -> 0xff//
//
//Enabling on-chip debugging://
//  Extended Fuse byte -> 0xff//
//      High Fuse byte -> 0x09//
//       Low Fuse byte -> 0xcf/

Kind regards,
Matthias
