While I agree it's good to have some code formatting rules, please do
not apply code formatting onto arbitrary files just for the purpose of
changing the formatting.

Gratuitously changing just the formatting of some files generates a
bunch of irrelevant diffs if you are going to traverse that change
later on, thus potentially hiding the actual code changes.

(FreeBSD did this mistake once, more than 25 years ago, by removing
all trailing white space throughout the entire tree.)
