Actually yes I do. If you rephrased this to say it's too slow with
whatever version of avifile I am using and the version of X and whatever
factors you want to include then I will agree.

I guess if I wanted 'good multimedia performance' from 'marginal hardware'
I could install Windows (c) ;)

For the hell of it I tried another X server, Accelerated X
by XiG to be exact: while not perfect I went from 100% frame drop on one
divx to around 8% (played all the way through)

Unfortunatly there are massive graphic "glitches" and the pointer is
invisible. But the video isn't effected by these glitches, just the title
bars and other window manager decorations. And it doesn't support TV-Out
cause you can't mess with the ModeLines it seems. If it did both of these
I might very well plunk for $29 to pay for the full version.

anyway I'm downloading the xf86 4.0.99 cvs now.
