Well at first - I'll not touch a single line in 0.53 version,
so if you want to use it you will have to try to manage to compile 0.6 version.
If there are any bugs in configure script in 0.6 version let us know.

Try to use configure script which comes with latest avifile-0.6 CVS.
It has been included as several user have huge problems to create
workable configure script. So try the original one for now.
