IIRC, avi2divx sets some parameters for the MP3 encode improperly.  I
don't remember off the top of my head what those errors are, tho.  I
believe it makes some incorrect assumptions about the rate of the
incoming audio.  This is based on my memory of the 0.4 version of
avi2divx.  If you're using a newer one (does a newer one exist?) then
things may be different.

The avifile libraries should be able to read the MJPEG avi file (I think
they can, anyways.  I seem to remember playing mjpeg avis other people
have sent me), so you should be able to use avi2divx to go directly from
the MJPEG avi to the divx.
