I'm writing becuase i think it has been long since last avifile
release. Really don't know about actual state, i use it few times, but
reading the list i think avifile has enough new features to be released.
The problem i think is that you have to do a feature freeze, because if
you dont it almost imposible to release a stable (more or less stable,
but stable) version. The actuak features look good to me so i think is
time for doing a freeze, and fix known bugs, or new critical bugs that
appear in that time, and then release. I think most people would like
this because they dont like playing with CVS, and app develovers who
link avifile would like to have a stable version to link to, to make
their app stable (you can have a stable app if it links to an unstable
one). This way distributions will be more inclinated to include the
package in their new versions, with the increase of people using avifile
this would mean. Hope you find this of help. Congratulations for the
