I spent the last day trying to have avifile decoding AC3 audio streams, to
no avail.
The --with-libac3-path option of ./configuration allows the build of the
ac3 codec of libaudiodec. But the implementation is not here (ac3.cpp
doesn't exists). I tried to make a working ac3.cpp by myself, but i have a
problem with libac3 from which i can't know how many bytes have been read
by the decoding function. I may end up with something (in fact i hear
something but since the read bytes doesn't match it's noise).
I also tried to build the libffmpeg library, but although a (i guess)
modified libac3 exists in the source tree, no AC3 decoder interface is
built for avifile.
The question i ask is : did somebody ever make AC3 work with avifile ? If
yes, how ?
