Proceed by getting avifile 0.6 from CVS. It is hugely improved, makes
0.53.5 look like worthless trash :) Kudos to the developpers, because
they rule.
Yet, for some reason (too busy improving?) they do not release 0.6 as
final. It would spare many new users the bad experience with 0.53.5
not compiling on new distros.
