[Avifile]Which libac3?

Hello,

a quick search revealed there are several forks of libac3
around. A very old (and probably unmaintained) version is
available from linuxvideo.org... I tried it some time ago
but, IIRC, it didn't even compile.

 Which libac3 version do you recommend with Avifile?
And, most important, where do I get it from?
