for now we are still focusing on catching bugs in avi reading parsing
writing  - it makes no sence to rewrite 10times more code when we
realize that we've designed some object in a wrong way.
(but the support is planned through the ffmpeg library - which is
able to do all these things - actually you could find this library
in aviplay CVS itself - it just doesn't build those two tools - 
ffserver and ffmpeg - and btw - maybe you could use them to
solve your problem - we are just doing things differently....)
