Um, I rather meant: Why should I want to play sounds with 2 sound cards
simultaneously? I have no idea what that might be useful for.

That works for aviplay. A more general solution would be to change the
frequency the Maestro driver uses (the option is already there) or to
get some other sound card. It doesn't seem to be a common problem or
more people would be complaining.
