I do not know if it could help you for AC3 pass through. VideoLan
client, which is a DVD player, has AC3 pass through feature. Their code
seems to be less specific and works fine on my Dell Inspiron 8K (maestro
3i and SPDIF output).
It may be usefull to have a look at :
