Latest CVS (i just did a check-out).

Now you are ready to run ./configure
./configure
...
sed: can't read ./doc/Makefile.in: No such file or directory
sed: can't read ./samples/artsplug/Makefile.in: No such file or directory
...
(then, some problems with dga and vm86 show up .. but I fixed them by
manually compiling .. see my previous mail).
...
make[1]: Entering directory
`/home/jverelst/download/divx/avifile-0.6.0/doc'
make[1]: *** No rule to make target `all'. Stop.
...
So, there are two things that need to be fixed for a clean compile on my
system: a configure.in in the doc directory, and a fix for the vm86&dga
problem. I hope that somebody with autoconf experience can fix those.
