well once someone will help me to figure out how to generate correct
configure files on those old RedHat 6.2 boxes I'll remove it.

I think we are using something which is not properly supported on those
systems - except I've no idea what...

I think autogen.sh is removing any conflicting files  - so it should be
ok - or do you have any problems here ? (except that you see  'C' with the
cvs updated filename ??)

Don't tell me - forward this to RedHat - they are building nonstadard 
distribution all the time :)
