Hi!

I just downloaded some new avifile-sources (avifile-0.6.0.20010831).
There was no configure-script with them, and so i started autogen.sh (as
mentioned on the news-page).
I get the following messages when I run aufogen.sh:
Generating build information...
Running libtoolize...
Running aclocal ...

aclocal: configure.in: 597: macro `AM_PATH_SDL' not found in library

If generated 'configure' script is useless try following:
   rm -f configure ltmain.sh config.guess condig.sub
   cvs update
   automake
   configure

The errors seem to fe fatal. The configure-script terminates after a few
lines:
checking build system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking host system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking target system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
./configure: line 1079: syntax error near unexpected token
`AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE(avifile0.6,'
./configure: line 1079: `AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE(avifile0.6, $AVIFILE_VERSION,
no-define)'

I use the program-versions:
automake: 1.4-p5
autoconf: 2.50
libtool: 1.4.1

Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks a lot.
Maier Gerfried
