It didn't help, I'd be surprised if it did.

As far as I understand this problem, the avifile - configure script thinks
that I haven't got SDL 
>= 1.1.3 (Actually, I've got 1.2.2).

The configure script seems to be determining the version by executing
sdl-config --version and 
analyzing the output string (which is, in my case, 1.2.2).

The correct sdl-config is found and seems to be executed (to be exact, a
test added to the 
sdl-config script showed me that it is executed about 3 times (?)).

But configure still says that I haven't got SDL. That means that either
configure makes some error 
while executing sdl-config or some test after that fails.

What shall I do? I hate such errors :(
