I actually used the avifile.spec to make the RPM. Thanks to your hint, I 
was able to figure out that the installed binaries would try to look for 
the modules in /tmp/avifile-0.6-root/usr/lib/avifile0.6 (which is where 
RPM installs them temporarilly). The question is, what's the right fix 
for this? Obviously, a fix to the RPM config would do the trick. Is the 
modules location (directory) configurable at runtime?
