I've 'censored' myself here my comments to the removement of some
.so libraries in XFree4 distribution
Anyway back to your problem - probably the easiest solution
would be to recompile SDL library for yourself and use it
instead of library provided in system.
Btw what is your system ?
Bugreport should be probably sent to the SDL library maintainer on this system.
