I just installed avifile, the 11\23\2001 release.
I am running Alsa 5.11, and SDL 1.2.3.
I do have OSS emulations, works fine with XMMS,
Realplayer, Quake3, and every other sound program
I have. (Civilization uses SDL, so it goes to ALSA though a wrapper.)

When I load any avi files now, it complains "Audiostream not detected" on
the console and fails to load sound. I even tried audio-enabled files
that have
worked on previous versions, with no luck at all.
I have been trying out different combinations of SDL and AVIfile builds,
changing sound options, and such, and I want to know.. Does AVIfile use
SDL for sound, or does it run it's own driver?

(I'm using the aviplay sample program to play videos, I don't know if that
matters or not, though.)
