I'm usually using latest kernels all the time :)
(if there aren't too much unstable on my SMP box)

But I'm suspecting he might have mixed header set in /usr/include dir

This structure should be declared in  /usr/include/linux/kernel.h

we should probably check for 'compatibility' of this structure and in case
it's somewho weird we should compile the avicap program without this and use
some default values...
