I think  'vcr' will just need few minor modification to adapt itself
to the latest CVS version of avifile - basicaly replace  string or std::string
with avm::string    and vector or std::vector  to  avm::vector 
in those places where some parameters are exchanged between the library
and the 'vct' program.

I think you should probably contact the author of this tool
(idealy this program could be merged into avifile tree - together with
x2divx)
