Why don't you compile it with intel cc for linux then?
I got 10-25% performance boost compared to gcc anyway, on libavcodec.

Btw, what about XviD ? Its authors say it's better in quality and speed than
divx4. We've made few tests, but it's hard to make difference. Sometimes
divx4 seems to be better sometimes xvid. I think it's just difference of few
internal constants?
