Hello everyone, First posting, after many google searches for my avifile questions took me to the mailing list's archives :) I'm using avifile-0.6.0-0.2mdk, on Mandrake 8.1. Great package, I'm just about to dump my WINE install of VirtualDub! But I do have a question about avirecompress and DivX 4.0... I'm trying to resize a divx4 file, but as soon as it opens, avirecompress dies with a segfault:
>Win32 LoadLibrary failed to load /usr/lib/win32/DDRAW.DLL, /usr/local/lib/win32/DDRAW.DLL >Using DirectShow codec: divxdec.ax >Decoder is capable of YUV output ( flags 0x1f ) >Win32 DivX 4.0 DirectShow video decoder created >Segmentation fault Now, I read Zdenek Kabelac once replied to an indentical error: >You are using DivX4 dll (you might preferer linux native code - but >the latest Win32 DivX4.12 is faster and there is not yet >equvalent of this code for linux (Euegene - is there a reason - e.g. >Intel doesn't want this ??) >You do not need ddraw.dll (actually it will probably crash if it would >be there :)) In my case it doesn't matter whether DDRAW.DLL is there or not... still the same message :( I've got divx4linux installed and working though (mencoder does a pretty good job with divx4 files) >You may try to use Win32 DivX4, FFMpeg OpengDivX or if you have >libdecore - DivX4 OpenDivX decoder. I would like to use libdecore, but how exactly? I cannot seem to rearrange the order of codecs in the avirecompress dialog? Should I recompile? Does anyone else have problems recompiling with gcc 3.0.2? thanks for any help!
