I'm currently still recording video with the August 3 avifile CVS
snapshot and vcr-1.08, because I haven't managed to find anything
which works as stably. The current CVS avifile is coming pretty
close.

Anyway, I have videos encoded with Indeo 5.0 video and MP3 audio that
vcr produced, and audio playback seems to fail utterly. Here's the
output from "aviplay 2002-03-13-155501.avi"; sorry for the verbosity
but I don't want to accidentally snip something important:

Anyway, at this point I can see the video playing perfectly, but all I
can hear from the speakers sounds is a hissing clicking sort of
periodic noise.

The same files play fine with the August 3 aviplay, and if I pull out
the audio streams with "transcode -i 2002-03-12-155501.avi -x af6 -y
raw -m test.mp3" then the resulting file plays correctly with mpg321
and mpg123.

Files recorded with the current CVS avirec with MP3 audio appear to
play back correctly, and don't seem to give noticeably different
text output.

Any ideas?

Would it help if I uploaded the first second or two of one of the
failing videos as an example?
