Ok I'm looking into my magic crystal sphere - yet it doesn't help :)
It tells me I need to know at least how the subtitles looks like
(just cut&paste few lines of them into your next mail)
Also aviplay is automagicaly open only those subtitles which have
the same name as the movie but different known extension (.txt .sub .smi)
If the name is different you have to pass this filename as the next
parameter after the movie filename.
