There seems to be a problem with MP3 audio encoding with the newest (.7)
versions of Avifile. I used to always encode my MP3 audio at 112kbit,
but now when I do, the created AVI file has the A/V out of synch. At
the end of capture, this message is reported:
<Lame MP3 encoder> : average 128 kbps
Even though I selected 112kbit. Guessing that this confusion over
bitrate might be the source of my synch problems, I went ahead and told
it to encode at 128 kbps, and the synch problems disappeared.
And, on a completely separate matter, I had to copy
plugins/libffmpeg/mangle.h and
plugins/libffmpeg/libavcodec/i386/mpegvideo_mmx_template.c from
Avifile0.7-20020405 in order to get Avifile0.7-20020412 to compile at
all, otherwise I got an infinite #include loop and a missing #include
file error, respectively. I think it might have complained about other
missing files too (probably in the configure script), but at least those
two got it to compile and not completely die on running or anything.
