There is most probabaly some anoying bug which removes renderers from
preferences.

Quit aviplay
rm ~/.avirc
aviplay

if still doesn't work
quit aviplay
vi ~/.avirc
find the line with noaudio
prepend  SDL,OSS,
save & quit
aviplay
