This is not an avifile bug complaint :)
Has anyone had any latency issues with capturing using Linux 2.4.18 with
the low-latency patches? I recently upgraded to avifile-0.7.4-20020426
with the new RedHat Rawhide 2.4.18 kernel (includes the low-latency patch),
and my frame drops went to 3% on a Athlon 1200 with 512mb ram with
the output file going to a md strip on 2 u2w lvd scsi disks (no other
activity). Prior to this I had been using the same hardware with
Redhat 7.2 kernel 2.4.9-31 with almost no drops.
As near as I can tell, the later VM has latency issues (I could
reduce frame drops by playing with bdflush's parameters...).
So am I the only one that's seeing this???
