Well - it's of course easy to write dump code in C which will
not fit into registers - unfortunaly GCC doen't have to
smartest optimizer - so the programmer must sometimes help.

S3Trio doesn't support YUV - this disqualifies this card.... :)

Also I hope you will rebuild all your programs everytime some bug/improvment
will be made in each used library... :)

No - it's one or two percent (in word)
As I said - I'm measuring with avifile & mplayer...
Difference has exactly this value! (seriously)

Because if you are using statics - the generated code is ineficient
(i.e. Micheal's MMX constants - I'll put there some short header file
where most of the used constant will be generated by two MMX instructions
(avoids memaccess and should be as fast as static version)
