Hi everyone:

I hope I'm not out of line posting this to the avifile list. Seeing as
how x2divx builds on top of avifile, I'm wondering if it isn't a problem
with the subsystem. If anyone has any better suggestions as to where I
might turn with this question (besides /dev/null), please let me know.

I'm attempting to convert an avi file that I captured
with dvgrab to divx, but avi2divx runs into various problems. First, it
chokes on the auto bitrate setting (snippet):

<Win32 video encoder> : BitRate 700 (old: 700)
Bitrate -1kbs not legal for 32000Hz output sampling.

MPEG1 samplerates(kHz): 32 44.1 48
bitrates(kbs): 32 40 48 56 64 80 96 112 128 160 192 224 256 320

MPEG2 samplerates(kHz): 16 22.05 24
bitrates(kbs): 8 16 24 32 40 48 56 64 80 96 112 128 144 160

So, I run it with a static setting (-a32), but it complains of other
problems with the frames, then segfaults:

<Lame MP3 encoder> : Setting bit rate to 4000 (32kbps)
audiobytesperframe: 4413
Encoding frame 0 of 300, 0.0 frames per sec <AVI reader> : w:720
h:-480 bpp:24 0x00000000 - 1:1 (0x80665a0)
<CImage> : Unexpected delete of referenced image ! (2)
Encoding frame 1 of 300, 5.0 frames per sec <BitmapInfo> :
BitmapInfo, format:
<BitmapInfo> : biSize 0 ( -65521 x 2228224 x 65518b ) 3342368 bytes
<BitmapInfo> : biPlanes 63, biCompression 0x00550040='@'
<AVI reader> : w:720 h:-480 bpp:24 0x00000000 - 1:1 (0x80f7ee8)
<CImage> : Unexpected delete of referenced image ! (2)
Encoding frame 2 of 300, 6.3 frames per sec Segmentation fault

Has anyone seen this type of behavior before? I'm pretty new to digital
video editing and playback, so it's entirely possible I'm doing
something really stupid. Any assistance will be *greatly* appreciated.

Thanks!
