As it was said the current CVS version might be unstable -
there are really made some rather drastical modification
to allow support of ffmpeg libav parsing and it has it's price :(...
However the current CVS version should be relatively usable and stable
(at least it works just fine for me - I'm even considering to make
a release of this - as the next modification will be most probabably
even more problematic)
So get fresh cvs
autogen.sh
configure
make install
if it segfaults -
send me backtrace and eventualy problematic avi/asf sample
You current report really doesn't help at all for bug resolving :(...
