Actually, SDL-devel was not installed. I installed all packages included with Mandrake which include the string "SDL" just to make certain none were missed (several including "devel", and deleted my entire AVIfile source tree, just to make certain NOTHING was left of what I'd been doing. I redownloaded via CVS, and made another attempt, but got the same error. Running sdl-config returns syntax information, so I assume SDL is all set, and the config file that the error mentions is right where the error told me to look for it (not that I'd know how to edit it, although I shouldn't need to, as I've never moved SDL, which is what the message implies may be the issue. Using the RPM of avifile doesn't seem to be an option, as I get fatal exceptions (presumably it was compiled with SDL found, and since avifile CAN'T find mine...) ________________ Aaron Mitschelen

Are you SURE you have also headers (probably SDL-devel) ? _______________________________________________ Avifile mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://prak.org/mailman/listinfo/avifile
