Hi,

thanks a lot for the hint. I am experiencing troubles with 
avirecompress. It quits with a segfault, and there is no picture in the 
converted movie. What am I doing wrong? Or do I need any additional 
packages installed?

The format I used was DivX (low-motion) with BitRate 1000, Crispness 10 
and Keyframes 1 (though I admit that those were just a guess).
